Imitating Christ’s Humility The Apostile Paul writes in Philippians 2:1-4, “If then there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others.” Such is a deep and lasting motivation of the various ministries and outreach of this church: to serve the needs of others and advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Those needs might be identified as spiritual, physical, emotional, or any and all of these...and others. It is of no consequence if those we serve should be our internal community or family of worshippers; a needy family or the wider-community. Paul's message trumpets the basics of Christ's teachings: to do unto others.
