In Philippians 2:1-4, Paul's message of unity springs from servanthood:

"Now if you have known anything of Christ's encouragement and of his reassuring love; if you have known something of the fellowship of his Spirit, and of compassion and deep sympathy, do make my joy complete—live together in harmony, live together in love, as though you had only one mind and spirit between you. Never act from motives of rivalry or personal vanity, but in humility think more of each other than you do of yourselves. None of you should think only of his own affairs, but consider other people's interests also." (Phi)

Such is a deep and lasting motivation of the various ministries and outreach of this church: to serve the needs of others and advance the gospel of Jesus Christ. Those needs might be identified as spiritual, physical, emotional, or any and all of these...and others. It is of no consequence if those we serve should be our internal community or family of worshippers; a needy family; or, the wider-community. Paul's message trumpets the basics of Christ's teachings: to do unto others.

Come. Receive a blessing. With your help we can and will minister to one and all.

Internal Ministry Organizations
Men's Fellowship
Phil Jones, President
United in Christ and bonded in Fellowship: the Portsmouth UCC Men's Fellowship is among the oldest ministries within the church.
Women's Fellowship
Ann Turner, President
Women's groups within a church have traditionally been a strong support for church growth and stability; this tradition is no-less apparent here at Portsmouth UCC.
Information on these and other ministries is readily available and will be provided upon request. Further, you can search the Internet for the above topics and find a great deal of information. The UCC's Greater Missions can be found at the national website (www.ucc.org).
Donations
In our ministry and missions, we recognize that the needs of people and not-for-profit organizations, to which we try to continue our support, are great and ever-growing. We are grateful for the donations and support of friends—known and unknown —which is so necessary in order to keep this ministry and its missions uplifted and active! Please make all donations to Portsmouth UCC (indicate the ministry/mission on the memo line of your check). Thank you!
